I am an Interior Designer by degree but have been practicing art my whole life. I try and bring an artistic flair to everything I do, from landscaping my yard to painting my nails I feel a true artist tries to make everything special.

I tend to like mediums that offer greater detail like graphite and digital photography, watercolor is not my medium of choice but I'm trying to learn. I'm also trying to teach myself vectors in photoshop. I can draft in Cad and am pretty good with sketch up.

I live in the pacific northwest, in a town very much like Forks for you all twilighters out there. I have a crazy cat named puma and LOVE working in my yard.

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.

Hey no problem I love it. I have been working on a book and I really want to set in in New Orleans even though I haven't been there. Your art just gave me such inspiration.

I want to go there so bad but everyone says its really dangerous now. I was planning to go just before Katrina hit and that ruined all my plans. I'm so sad to see so much damage still.

Yes your pictures are wonderful It's hard to find swamp/bayou pictures like that. Please keep adding your special views of the south.

I also have a love of old cemeteries. I live right down the street from one that had some pretty need crypts and things I should take some pictures and post them one day.

Thank you so very much for your kind words.I am pleased that my art has inspired you!I am in love with South Louisiana,we have a unique flavor all our own here.I recently posted some new shots that were actually taken in my back yard.My favorites being "My Swampy Back Yard 4,6 and 7"(7 is the best..lol)As for visiting New Orleans..I think you should,Especially if you want to place your story here..what better than hands on experience.I've helped other people here on DA with info concerning New Orleans do's and don'ts and with recommendations for a trip here.I would happily do the same for you.The French Quarter was never damaged from Katrina, everything is back to normal and has been so for awhile..The food is GREAT..So is the Music..Someone once told me that I was an ambassador to New Orleans,I guess in a way I am.If I can help you in any way please let me know.Good luck on your novel.Do you have an idea what it will be about?
I also love old cemeteries and would love to see any photos that you would post.Just send me a note if you do, that way I can find them.I'm getting ready to post some shots of Metairie Cemetery in a few Minutes.Well I've rambled enough.I hope my art can continue to inspire you..would that sort of make me your muse?LOL Take Care...Deb
